Russian Airstrikes Target U.S. Electronics Firm in Ukraine

(MENAFN) A fresh wave of Russian airstrikes targeted Ukraine overnight between Wednesday and Thursday, hitting a U.S.-owned electronics manufacturer in the country’s western region, Ukrainian officials confirmed.

“One of the missiles struck a major American electronics manufacturer in our westernmost region, leading to serious damage and casualties,” said Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha in a statement posted to X.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the attack on Telegram, reporting that multiple cruise missiles targeted an American company manufacturing coffee machines and other household goods in the western Zakarpattya region.

The missile strike left 15 civilians injured and ignited a blaze spanning approximately 7,000 square meters, according to the State Service for Emergencies.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported the scale of the assault, stating that it involved 574 drones and 40 missiles. Ukrainian defense systems intercepted 546 drones, along with 18 Kh-101 cruise missiles, 12 Kalibr cruise missiles, and one Kinzhal hypersonic missile, the Air Force said.

This marks another escalation in Russia's ongoing air campaign, now extending into western regions previously less affected by direct strikes. Ukrainian officials continue to assess the full extent of the damage.
